Fluoropolymers are widely used in downhole cable and control lines where they provide corrosion, abrasion and crush resistance. Hyflon® PFA/MFA® are excellent polymers for primary or secondary electrical insulation of the conductor. Hyflon® MFA® offers a cost effective alternative to FEP.

Halar® ECTFE offers exceptional weatherability and abrasion resistance for outer jacketing. Halar® ECTFE insulation will not embrittle at temperatures down to -76°C and will maintain dimensional and dielectric strength at temperatures up to 120°C.

Fluoropolymers are essential to data logging cable construction for primary and secondary electrical insulation of the conductor. New applications that demand high temperature resistance can rely on Hyflon® PFA/MFA®.

Umbilicals are used to hydraulically control valves and the tools used to service subsea wells. Solef® PVDF, with excellent hydraulic stability, chemical and permeation resistance, is typically used for chemical injection hoses. Hoses made from PVDF have been proven a successful replacement for steel tubes because of their flexibility and cost effectiveness.
