Barium carbonate

Barium Carbonate is manufactured from natural barium sulphate (baryte) by reduction with petcoke and following precipitation with carbon dioxide.

Barium chloride

Barium Chloride Dihydrate is used in waste water treatment among others.

Barium hydroxide

Barium Hydroxide is available as Monohydrate and Octahydrate

Blanc fixe

Chemically precipitated Barium Sulphate with main application as filler in paints, coatings, pigments and plastics, and as functional additive in batteries.

Outstanding advantages of Blanc Fixe in these applications are: chemical purity, narrow particle size distribution and the white index.

High purity products

The Alkaline Earth High Purity (HP) product line is characterized by specific chemical and physical properties which are strictly controlled in all steps of the production process guided by our total quality management.

Strontium carbonate

Strontium Carbonate is manufactured from natural Strontium sulphate (celestite) by reduction with petcoke and following precipitation with carbon dioxide.

Strontium Nitrate is widely used in pyrotechnics

Sulphur & derivatives

The production base for Solvay Ground Sulphur is Hydrogensulfide which is generated as a by-product in the manufacture of Barium- and Strontium Carbonate. With the aid of the Claus-process a very pure elemental Sulphur is produced.
